Spay / Neuter Aftercare For Dogs
Considerations:
Be sure they do not administer any vaccinations, flea and tick products, h/w products, or other medications simultaneously or for 2 weeks prior and 2 weeks after (minimum. I encourage you not to use F/T products anyway!
Strengthen the immune system before and after -- fresh foods are the best option to that. But you can include a little freshly grated ginger fresh thyme to your meals for a week or so prior and after. Try Endurance Vitamin Mineral Supplement or Bone broth to boost of nutrients – especially to kibble fed dogs.
Holistic practitioners also suggest supporting the endocrine system following the procedure, especially if we do the procedures before our dogs have reached full hormonal maturity. This can be done with Glandulars for the next 12-18 months. Then be sure to monitor the endocrine markers in your annual blood work – some dogs will require glandular / endocrine support on an ongoing basis.
Yes, I know we’ve never had to do that before! I didn’t do it with my dogs over the years either. But new findings in holistic medicine encourage it!
You can do natural anesthesia clearing following the procedure and help the liver detox with Adored Beast Liver Tonic is suggested to detox the liver from anesthesia and medications of the procedure. There are essential oil and homeopathic options if you’re interested.
If you choose antibiotics, be sure that you do a full round of probiotics for a couple of months after the procedure to reset gut health. I recommend Adored Beast Products. Love Bugs would be a good choice to start unless you’re having other digestive issues.
But you do have alternatives to traditional antibiotics for the standard procedures and recovery too.
There a natural options for pain relief, instead of using NSDAIDs which can be hard on the liver. It’s easy enough to use Arnica Homeopathy for a few days!

We strongly discourage Pediatric Spay Neuter procedures. But if you adopt a dog where this has already been done, please consider glandular support on an ongoing basis.
