Benefits of Lightly Cooked Food
It’s important to know that you will still get great benefits from homemade dog food, even if the protein is lightly cooked (think rare) or slow-cooked in the crock pot. The key difference is in cooked meat nutrition. In short, the more cooked a protein is over high heat — the more carcinogens will be present as a result of high heat processing of the fats and proteins. This is lessened in slow cooking processes.
Veggies will always be steamed or roasted & finely chopped to begin the digestion process and mimic the contents of the belly of prey.
Is Raw Dog Food Right For Every Dog
No. Nothing is perfect for everyone. While most dogs will do exceptionally well with a raw diet, many will fare better with a lightly cooked or gently cooked. This means either a very quick sautee to warm without cooking the meat all the way through or a very slow cook at low temperatures. Why Raw May Not Be Right For Your Dog.
